Military Talent Candidate Screening Process

Nationwide Candidate Outreach
Most companies limit their search for military talent to local or regional markets. At CHC Talent, we conduct nationwide outreach to connect with transitioning military candidates across the U.S. Many of these candidates are eligible for one final military-funded move, enabling them to relocate for private-sector opportunities.

Initial Screening
Our first step is a phone screening to evaluate the candidate’s suitability for the role, understand their military transition timeline, and confirm alignment between their career goals and the opportunity we’re representing.

Opportunity Briefing & Interest Confirmation
Candidates who pass the initial screening are provided with detailed information about the client company and the position. This allows them to assess the opportunity and confirm their interest before proceeding.

Candidate Documentation Collection
For candidates who express interest in moving forward, we request and review the following documentation to evaluate their qualifications and readiness for the role:
- Updated Resume
- NCOER / OER Reports
(Non-Commissioned Officer Evaluation Reports or Officer Evaluation Reports — typically 3 or more are reviewed
- DD214 Form
(A summary of the candidate’s military service, awarded upon official separation from active duty)

Structured Video Interview
Each candidate completes a structured video interview conducted by our team. This step provides deeper insight into the candidate’s communication skills, leadership style, and alignment with the role and company culture.
